Right of Withdrawal

Unless exceptions apply, users have the right to withdraw from the contract within the period stated below (usually 30 days) without giving any reason. This section provides users with information about the conditions of withdrawal.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to the following contracts:

  • Contracts for the supply of goods that are made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized.

  • Contracts for the supply of digital content not delivered on a physical medium, if the consumer has agreed that the performance of the contract begins before the end of the withdrawal period and has acknowledged that this causes them to lose their right of withdrawal.

Who the right of withdrawal applies to

Under EU law, European consumers have a legal right of withdrawal for contracts concluded online (distance contracts). They may withdraw from the contract within the applicable period for any reason and without justification. This right of withdrawal applies unless exceptions are stated below.

This right does not apply to users acting outside the scope of European consumer protection laws. The consumer is only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

Exercising the right of withdrawal

To exercise their right of withdrawal, the user must notify the provider of their decision to withdraw by means of a clear declaration.

Users may use the sample withdrawal form found in the “Definitions” section of this document, but are free to communicate their decision by any other clear and appropriate means. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient for the withdrawal declaration to be sent before the withdrawal period expires.

When does the withdrawal period end?

  • For purchases of goods: 14 days after the day on which the user or a third party named by the user (other than the carrier) takes possession of the goods.

  • For multiple goods ordered at once but delivered separately: 14 days after the day on which the user or a third party named by the user (other than the carrier) takes possession of the last item, batch, or part.

Effects of withdrawal

Users who validly withdraw from a contract will be refunded all payments made to the provider, including delivery costs (if applicable).

The provider is not obliged to refund any additional costs if the user chose a delivery method more expensive than the standard shipping option offered by the provider.

Refunds are made without undue delay, and no later than 14 days after the provider was informed of the user's decision to withdraw. Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used in the original transaction, unless explicitly agreed otherwise. No fees will be charged for the refund.

…when purchasing goods

The user must return the goods without delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which they informed the provider of their decision to withdraw, unless the provider has offered to collect the goods.

The deadline is met if the goods are handed over to the carrier or returned in the manner described above before the 14-day period expires. The provider may withhold the refund until they have received the goods back or the user has provided proof of return, whichever is earlier.

The user is only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

The user bears the return shipping costs.
